I've been a wrestling fan from the age of 4 years old and somehow haven't grown out of it yet. No matter what's happening in the world, I've always had wrestling as the one consistent thing to watch on Mondays and Fridays and late Saturday nights.
From this, I wanted to make a book that tied into the intriguing story of 2024 in WWE, that being Cody Rhodes' rise to the top. I had watched Cody go from Legacy to being in the crowd for his Undashing gimmick and leaving in 2016, only to come back a megastar in 2022.
Building a Kingdom would be an unofficial account of the journey of Cody Rhodes. His debut and team with Hardcore Holly. His statistics in Royal Rumbles. Anything interesting about Cody compiled into one book. The book gave me the opportunity to explore infographics and how to convey heavy statistics in a way that can be easily consumed, whilst also furthering my skills in publication design.
The project concluded in May, and I wrote up and designed 4 spreads of the page as well as a book mockup to see what it could lead to one day. The cherry on top was marketing the fake book launch based on advertising in my local area for bookstores.
