As a huge fan of horror movies, 2026 is looking to be one of the best so far this decade for the genre. From sequels to beloved franchises like Evil Dead Burn or exciting debuts of new directors like Backrooms. I had the fortunate experience of watching Hokum a few days early through a secret screening at my local cinema. I ended up loving the movie so much that I went home and made it my mission to mock up my own poster for the movie.
The posters draw on European folk imagery, and I wanted my font to make it seem like this could simply be an eerie print from the 1400s. Within the Hokum trailer, several hidden symbols flash up, and I integrated that into the poster. My prints use a distressed paper backdrop to age the poster, paper I scanned myself from my own collection, to ensure authenticity in this tribute poster to the movie.
